Rocky Mountains National Park

Today we made a trip in 'our' Jeep through the Rocky Mountains Nat. Park. The weather was very good: not too hot or too cold. In the motel we met a Dutch woman of Colorado origin, who lives with husband and two sons in Heiloo. She also did the trip today for sentimental reasons: Up to the Continental Divide, and then down to the Grand Lake and all the way back to see everything from the other side. And so we followed her advice.

We had GPS at the ready, and yes, at the top, at 12000 feet it read the same altitude. Incredible, we only flew at 9000 feet to get to Fort Collins.

Here we stand, on the top of the Rockies! Smiling, but shivering from the cold wind!
So we had a look inside the information centre and treated ourselves on a real cappucino.

In the afternoon, on our way back some deer crossed the road. Everybody stopped and took pictures. So did we. Now we stay in the Super 8 motel in Loveland, nera our aircraft. Tomorrow we will decide what will comes next: in the Cessna to Colorado Springs, or another day sightseeing with the Jeep ...
