July 5th, Arrival in Fort Collins

We are at the Sterling airport at 8.00.
The plane is already refueled, windowscreen cleaned.
Cecilia's attentions is caught by this wonderful portait of this daring Marvel Crossman, who set the womens altitude record of 23.995 ft in May, 1929. And came from Sterling Colorado!

I busied myself with the latest weather: strong headwind at 2000 feet, less headwind at 7000 feet. So we knew what to do.
It was very quiet in the fresh morning air. And only an hour flying!

Then we arrived at Ft Collins Loveland. Runway 33, 5 Kts from 360. Here is a view taken at the moment we turned downwind.

And what a surprise: several old WWII bombers were on the platform! we were pleasantly welcomed by Heather of the Jetcenter. A nice guy tied up our dear N4315R, and us with our baggage to the FBO. There we could rent a real JEEP right away. At 11.30 we were bound for our adventure in the Rocky Mountains.
