4th of July, to Sterling CO

From pleasant Wayne Nebraska we flew over the flatlands, now and then a river. Made a stop at Broken Bow, where Cecilia treated the local cropduster and his wife on Wisconsin home made cookies.

Then we picked up Interstate 80 up to Julesvilles. There 80 goes up to the North West at Julesvilles.
We stayed tuned to the 78 that starts there and goes to the west. Here is Julesvilles!

It was a bit hazy at 7000 ft, so we climbed up to 9000 feet, just above the inversion layer. The Cessna droned on and on and I got sleepy. So after a while we decided to to postpone our goal Fort Collins until tomorrow, and fly into Sterling (KSTK). We were very friendly received by the airportcrew. Because of the big day, Indepence Day, we feasted ourselves to a fantastic dinner at the River City Inn ( Cecilia poached halibut, Reint striped steak ); Our Cessna we treated on a stay in a hangar, to be safe for the nearbye 4th of July Fireworks in the Sterling City Park.
